mini movers
Description

Mini Movers is designed for children age 1 to 2 years with the pre-requisite of being able to walk. The program helps develop strength, flexibility, co-ordination, balance and improves cognitive development. The program will assist perceptual-motor development and strengthen the foundations of skills the child will be learning in the next year of life.

Pre-Requisites

Must be walking

Outcomes

The program will help to stimulate motor skill development, build strength, balance and coordination. Mini Movers will have a positive impact on both the child and the parent, helping to educate parents on child development and providing techniques to safely exercise children age 1 to 2 years. Simple, constructive playtime activities are introduced to stimulate the child mentally and physically. Your child will learn to use equipment to encourage physical movement such as rolling, balancing, hanging, walking and learning to enhance cognitive and motor development. Lots of music, praise and repetition to secure a sound routine for exercise. We hope to prepare the Mini Mover to enter into the Smarties program.

Parent Participation

Parents are asked to assist their child to participate in all activities as directed by the instructor. Please do not leave the group or use any equipment without the direction of the instructor. As your child gains independence, parents are encouraged to leave the gym area and soon your child will graduate to a Smarties class.
