Term 4 scheduled time off
The scheduled time off for boys in MAG CT was set for the week of 5th -11th October. This date has now been revised due to the majority of boys in Sydney for the GCA Competition. The new scheduled week off is now the week of 12th - 18th October, there will be no training for anybody in MAG CT for this week and is a compulsory week off.
The boys last training session for 2009 will be Saturday 19th December and we will return on Monday 4th January 2010.
2009 Gala - 22nd November
After the hit the boys were in last years Gala we will be looking at making an even bigger impact this year. Keep this date in your diary.
2009 Yearbook
As you are possibly aware, we are publishing the yearbook again this year. We need as many pictures as possible, so if you have ordered pictures from competitions or have good pictures you took yourself, please put them on a disk and hand them to the office. The more pictures you send in the more chance you have of them being published. We cannot publish low resolution images or dark images as they do not reproduce well.
Term 4 Program change
Don't forget the new CT changes take full effect in term 4. All gymnasts (except new gymnasts) will have received the revised training offer last term. If you are unsure please ask your son's coach or email myself brett@goldcoastgymnastics.com . We are pleased that as of term 4 we will have 5 CT programs and 2 pre CT programs running which gives us potentially 50 + competitive boys. Programs for term 4 are MAG CT 1, MAG CT 2, MAG CT 3, MAG CT 4, MAG CT 5 and MAG Development & MAG Jnr Development.
A lot of information to take in, but if you have any questions please contact me.

2009 MAG State Championships
Congratulations to all the boys that competed at the recent Queensalnd State Championships. Out of all the clubs Gold Coast was very well represented in the overall standings and dominated the Regional Challenge competition. Well done to the following boys on their top three finishes.
Cory Hitchens - Level 5 Age State Champion
Jesse Softley - Level 4 Open 2nd Overall
Reece Jackson - Level 4 Age 2nd Overall
Indigo Dragon - Level 3 Age 2nd Overall
Declan Hargreaves - Level 3 Open 2nd Overall
Taylor Moss - Level 5 Age 3rd Overall
Jack Glendenning - Level 3 Open 3rd Overall
We are very proud of our boys results and all the individual appartus medalists. This will go down as one of the most successful MAG States in the clubs history.
Upcoming Dates
MAG State Clubs - 21st & 22nd September - Caloundra (Levels 3-6)
MAG Wet n Wild - 30th September - 2nd October (Levels 2-6) (TBC) - Gold Coast
GCA Cup - 8th - 13th October - Levels 2-6 - Sydney
Club Gala - 22nd November - Everyone - Gold Coast
Coach of the Year
Well done to Myles Cronin on his well deserved award for The Quensland Levels Coach of the Year for the year of 2008. This award was presented at the Queensland State Championships.
Parent Interviews
Thank you to the parents that took the opportunity to meet with the MAG coaches over this week. It has a great iopportunity for both coaches and parents to communicate on the progress of their son. Interviews will conclude this Saturday.
Results
If you haven't already done so, make sure you farward some information on your sons results at State Championships to their schools. Most schools like to hear how their students are doing in external pursuits and more often than not they normally do a write up in the schools newsletter.
CT Changes
Don't forget that the full CT changes will take effect for term 4. All parents will have received a letter with new sessions and days their son is to train. Gymnasts just starting this term will not have received one of these. MAG CT 1 has already commenced their changes as they start preparation for the senior divisions next year. At this point Gold Coast will have 5 gymnatsts in level 6 and 4 boys in level 7 contesting State next year and hopefully represent Queensland at Nationals. This is great and shows how much our MAG program has grwn and developed.
Training Attire
Some gymnasts are still turning up without some of their training attire/equipment. All MAG CT gymnasts must have their own chalk, it is not fair that some boys continually need to borrow from other gymnasts. All boys in MAG CT 1 & 2 must always have loops & gloves (gloves optional). Running shoes are also compulsory for MAG CT 1, 2 & 4.
Ankle Weights
All boys in MAG CT 1 must now have ankle weights. A couple of boys still don't have these. Maximum weight is 1kg on each but we would prefer the 0.5 kilogram ankle weights. Boys in MAG CT 2 may also purchase 0.5 kilogram ankle weights if they want to as well but please check with your coach before doing so.
Club Championships Photographs
Don't forget to check out the photographs of the boys at Club Championships. These photos are of a very high standard and are a great keepsake for the boys. Go to http://sportingimages.com.au/gallery2008/2009gcgym/ you will need the password to access the images which you can email me for or contact the office.
